This workshop will provide you with a unique opportunity to learn how to lobby for good and discover the advocacy tools available to you to bring meaningful change in your community.
In the second half of the event, you will learn how to file a Freedom of Information request. Throughout the years, freedom of information requests shaped the political debate at national and EU level by fostering the accountability of the public administration and as such they represent a valuable tool for an effective advocacy strategy.
The training will be provided by Onno Brouwer, lawyer from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Helen Darbishire, Right to Information Activist and Founder of Access Info Europe.
The event is organised in partnership with Pro Bono Lab, an organisation providing pro bono consulting services to small and medium non-profit organizations, towards building a world where everyone cooperates to tackle social challenges for the common good.
The European Parliament supports this event as part of the This time I'm voting Campaign.
The European Civics Academy is part of Advocate Europe, the European idea challenge by MitOst in cooperation with Liquid Democracy, funded by Stiftung Mercator.
